Mission Statement:

The mission of the Friends of Runnymede Park is to protect, enhance, and preserve the physical, natural, and cultural heritage of this special public parkland in the Town of Herndon.

Throughout the year we will be offering guided walks in the park, highlighting birds, native plants, insects, frogs.

These will be posted on our Facebook page - be sure to Like us.

2018 Events:

Bird Walk, Saturday, October 20, 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM

Bird walk in the park on Saturday, October 20, 8 am, will be led by board member, Jonathan Lacher.  This is an interesting time of year — birds that spent the summer in the north are passing through the park on their way south; birds that spend the winter with us are already arriving; and our resident birds are here year-round.  Don’t let inexperience keep you away;  Jonathan is very good at helping beginners find and identify birds.  Bring binoculars if you have them; if you don’t, we have some to loan.  Meet Jonathan in the parking lot at 8 am.  The walk will last about an hour and half.  Free.  No reservations required.
